The weekend has been pretty uneventful. We've pretty much hung out around the house and played outside whenever the weather permits. Right now Corban and Johnny are both taking naps. Sundays are so hard on Corban b/c he's usually down for his morning nap no later than 10:30, but on Sundays we don't get home until noon usually. I feel sorry for whoever does nursery during the second half of the morning because I have a feeling he's a bit of a pill.
Today I found out that Diana had taught Corban to blow bubbles the other day! She got some wedding bubbles out of her purse and he blew them for us - and then when everybody was impressed and clapped for him, he did a big bow. He was watching Nina and Alexandra practice their formal ballet bow last week and picked it up then. Our boy is such a ham!
I'm looking forward to this week, I'm planning to get A LOT of cleaning done and to get Corban's old clothes out for Caden and to get their closets switched around. I don't know where I'm going to put everything. Plus, we've got our usual pre-marital counseling sessions, small group, doctor's appointments, and we're going to the Fitzroy's for the 4th - I'm really looking forward to that! I'm going to go cross stitch while my boys are asleep.

OK, here's the latest baby news. First of all, I get to have another sonogram, which I am completely thrilled about! The reason I get to have it though, is because of there being such a discrepancy between my due dates. My cycle said the 19th, my earlier sonogram said the 31st. Finally, this last doctor said we would get another sonogram to see how things look now. She says that I'm measuring like the 31st and that most of the time they go by the sonogram when there is such a big difference anyway. That means that instead of being 3 weeks, I've got 5 weeks. I've got more time to get things done around here, but also more time being pregnant! Oh well, it's all in God's time anyway.
Yesterday was great! Corban took a great nap, I helped Johnny with some stuff and got my kitchen pretty much cleaned up. I got a shower while Corban was still napping and then he woke up and had a good lunch and we went outside to play in his baby pool. It was REALLY cold, but he enjoyed it anyway. While Johnny was finishing up a meeting Corban fell asleep sitting with me in the recliner which hasn't happened for a long time. Then, we went to Craig and Diana's for dinner. It was great - so much food - Corban stuffed himself! We played a little Shanghi Rummy and watched the storm while Nadine played with Corban and then we came home, put the boy to bed, and watched a little TV. I woke up with a HORRIBLE leg cramp though, which still hurts a little. Diana is going to come by this afternoon to watch Corban so that Johnny can come to my doctor's visit with me. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks left!

We've been letting Corban cry it out for naps for the last few days - it's horrible. He goes down so well at night, but naptime has always been a struggle and it's even worse now listening to him yell "Daddy" the whole time (he calls me daddy too most of the time). Today was a good day though. Corban had a good night and slept in, we all got showers and breakfast and I headed out to pick up Nina. Corban wasn't asleep yet when we got home, so we had to listen to him scream for an hour, but we played a few games and watched some TV. Whoever thought that I would be watching a show with Billy Ray Cyrus as a main character? After Corban woke up from his nap we went outside to play with bubbles and then went to our friend's the Bowersox to swim in their pool. Corban and Nina both had a great time and we ended up staying for about 3 hours and then I took Nina home. Corban has no fear, the boy would just walk off the edge of the pool or stick his face in the water and he always comes up laughing. In some ways I think it's great, in some ways it scares me to death. Tomorrow is my last day with Nina and we're having our small group over to the house for a pot-luck tomorrow night, so I'm going to be a couch potato as much as possible on Thursday. Oh, and did everybody else know that Rihanna is from Barbados? Who knows, maybe our group met her while we were there!

Today was a very nice day. We got up early, but we all just kind of got to hang out for a while before Corban went down for his nap (he slept for 4 hours!) and I had to go pick up Nina. This is my last week with her for a while - I think we're both a little sad. Anyway, while I was out Libby called and asked if we wanted to have lunch since they were passing close by. They went to Coleman's wedding in Wheeling, WV this weekend, which is about an hour away. So we took Nina with us and ate a very nice lunch at Damon's. It was nice to get to hang out with just them for a while. By the time we got home it was time to take Nina home and now Johnny and Corban are hanging out watching the Backyardigans.
Yesterday was a nice day too. We had a baby shower for Kim Fitzroy (Maggie and Carolyn's sister-in-law). She's due the 23rd of July. I ended up having a lot to do for the shower and was completely exhausted afterward, but it was fun. It was pathetic though b/c Corban was running around the house with something he shouldn't have had, and I honestly could not catch him! Less than 4 weeks now though and we'll have two to deal with!

Yesterday was Corban's checkup - he's a "super duper guy" as the doctor would say. I know he sounds really cheesy, but we really like this doctor. Poor boy though, he's like 60% for weight, 75th for height, and above 95th for head size. Last night we had dinner at Don Pablos with a couple from the church, then they came back to the house for dessert and to cut Corban's hair. I can't believe that he's had two haircuts in 3 months! This morning Johnny and Corban came to my doctor's appointment with me - Johnny's only been to a few of them and I think he's really missed it. Today was also another bust as far as swimming goes - we were headed out the door and it started thundering and clouding up, plus it's still only about 75 here and not supposed to get any better next week either, which is my last week with Nina. I enjoy keeping her, but there is so much that I need to get done before the baby is due that I'm really glad I'm going to have a couple of free weeks to get caught up. Tonight Johnny and I are celebrating our anniversary with a steak dinner here at home, I'm so glad to be spending an evening alone at home that I can't get over it! Have a great weekend all!

BURRRRR!!!!!
No swimming for us today! It's been 60 and cloudy all day - maybe we'll have better luck on Friday. Instead, while Corban was sleeping I had Nina help me do some errands and baking. At the grocery we saw muffins, so we bought them and made a dozen, I had a chocolate eclair dessert that I needed to make for tomorrow night, and I just wanted some chess bars (a girl, especially a pregnant girl, does not need an excuse for chess bars). We got all of that done, and lunch eaten before Corban was up from his nap.
Tonight we have to take Corban to a babysitter so that we can go to our small group - our regular girls are all away at camp this week. I just hope he will get over the clingy stuff and be a good boy. Tomorrow is his 15 month checkup and Friday is my 36 week checkup!

Busy Weekend
This was a fun weekend, but exhausting too. Saturday afternoon there was a high school graduation party here at the church for two girls and then Sunday was Luke and Nadine's wedding celebration. Both were lots of fun, but it was a full time job just to keep up with Corban. The reception was especially hard because he did not want to be sitting and we couldn't just let him run around. The food at both was excellent though. For those of you who know my penchant for wedding cake, this was heaven for me. Nadine is a pastry chef and she made the cake herself. One of the guys at our table said it wasn't cake, it was heaven, and that just about sums it up. The icing was the best stuff I have ever put in my mouth, AND it had both lemon and strawberry filling. Honestly, if I had a whole sheet cake in front of me right now I would probably eat the whole thing in one sitting.
Monday I babysat, these summer days are long ones for us because I leave the house to pick her up at dance camp at 10 and sometimes Corban and I might not be back until 5. For those of you who work full-time I know it doesn't sound like much, but it's hard to get Corban off his schedule. Today we ran a few errands and then Corban and I played outside before he came in to take his nap. He loves bubbles, and will actually say the word very clearly. He actually says bubbles more than "Mama."
Tomorrow if it's nice, Nina, Corban, and I are going swimming. I'm looking forward to something a little different and it should entertain both Nina and Corban for a good long while. Oh, and for all of you Cynthiana girls, I would have to say flowers for Harman's bike - does he still have the pom-pom streamers on the handlebars?

Guilty Mommy
We took Corban outside tonight and brought up his bubble mower... he absolutely loves it! What started out as a very nice evening thought turned out very badly. He had crawled up on the porch, but was going back down into the yard. I saw him head for the step and was telling him to sit down and was headed to him, but before I got there he had tried to walk off the step and landed on his face on the concrete sidewalk. He's got a huge scratch and bump on his forehead, a scratched nose, and a scratch above his lip. I feel horrible - and he looks horrible.
Another busy week is behind us, now we just need to get into the busy weekend! Monday we got home from Williamsport, Tuesday I ended up having lunch and dinner for Luke and Nadine's moving crew, Wednesday, Thursday, and today I babysat. Right now Johnny is picking up subs and ice cream for our dinner. At first I just wanted to do leftover chicken, but now I'm glad we don't have to mess up the kitchen at all.
Last night we went down to the Fireman's Fair... pretty much one big food booth and a bunch of gambling booths. You wouldn't believe how these people love to gamble. We had already eaten dinner, so we made our appearance and headed home. We walked down, and I thought I was going to die before we got home, but I made it! Tomorrow afternoon is a graduation party for two girls here at the church and then Sunday is Luke and Nadine's Wedding Celebration. I'm only working for two more weeks... the family is leaving for Italy June 27th and not coming back for two weeks, so I kind of figured that would be as good a time as any to quit before the baby is born. I'm starting to agree with Johnny that this little boy might make an early entrance into the world. It's weird though b/c I don't really remember what contractions felt like... the only ones I felt were the ones between them breaking my water and getting my epidural and pretty much everything from the hospital is in a fog. This sounds strange too, but I'm kind of looking forward to that experience of actually going into labor.
My boy is stinky, gotta go change a diaper!

Tech Genius?
OK, so maybe not a genius, but he's sure making us realize things about "technology." First, a few months ago he ordered a movie from Pay Per View then last night Corban was walking around our bedroom with the remote to our ceiling fan and light switching the light off and on. All of a sudden we realized that the light got dim, and then went off. I got the remote from Corban and turned on the light and after playing with it for a while realized that the power button for the light also dims the stinking thing! Johnny and I have both been so disapointed in the light on the fan since we put it in, and a year later we find out that it's on a dimmer!
Other than that, our boy genius is driving me a little batty. He's actually being really good, but his nap/sleep schedule is changing and I'm having a hard time getting things straightened out. He's started skipping his afternoon nap, which is fine if he sleeps longer at night. The thing is, he's not going down for his morning nap at 10 like normal, he's taking it at 1 which is fine too, except he's not going down very easily and I can't deal with him fighting me right now. Johnny's been around for the most part to take care of it, so it's been OK. The best thing about this naptime is that yesterday he went down for his nap at 1 and slept until 5:30, then he went back down at 9 and slept until 7!
As soon as I can get them downloaded, I'll post some pictures of Abby's B-Day and Corban and Abby playing in the kiddie pool at John and Paulette's. Corban LOVES the water, doesn't matter how cold it is or how little/much of it there is. I think we've got a water baby on our hands!

I Love a Deal!
I just had great shopping experience. I had a coupon for JC Penny to save $10 on a purchase of $10 or more. Of course I looked for the item closest to $10 that I could find. I found a khaki skort (not sure what I think about a skort, but I tried it on the best I could with my huge belly and it felt really comfortable.) Anyway, it was marked $12.99 and remember, there is no tax on clothing in PA. When I got it up to the counter it rang up for $10.39 - it was actually an extra 20% off! So after my coupon it was just $0.39 and I even had EXACT change in my wallet. I told Johnny that if it wasn't 9:30 in the morning I would have called Kerry Tuttle on the spot, because he just didn't get why it was so exciting for me.
Other than that, we're in Williamsport for Abby's 1st birthday parties. Today there is one at Paulette's Dad's house and then tomorrow afternoon there is a big shindig here at John and Paulette's house. We came in yesterday afternoon and Corban got to play in the baby pool. The water was freezing, but he had so much fun! He went down for what we thought was going to be a nap at about 6:30 and by 8:45 we tried to get him out of bed and wake him up for a little while, but he wasn't having it. We took him back to bed and he slept until 5:40. I think we're going to try to pass on the afternoon nap again today and hopefully he'll sleep 11 hours again tonight (I think we'll try putting him down a little later though). I really dread getting rid of that nap, but if it makes him sleep better at night, I'm not gonna argue.

Today has turned out to be a pretty good day. We got the oil changed in the car, had our "marriage" couseling session with a couple from church, then had lunch with them before we went to Lowes and Babies R Us. We got a fan for Corban's room and Abby's birthday present for this weekend. I had high hopes of getting the car washed, but it's raining here, so it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Corban went to sleep before we got home, I was glad that Johnny was right behind us, because Corban and I were in the truck and there was no way I could get him out of the truck and into the house still asleep. I hope he takes a really nice nap now and sleeps well tonight. Well, I'm going to go eat a bowl of strawberry shortcake and ignore the incredibly long list of stuff I need to do before we leave Friday!
I have never wanted to scream at anyone so much in my life as the guy who came outside and blew an air horn at 12:30 or 1 last night because the Penguins won their game. I'm all for celebrating, but I had been asleep for 2 1/2 hours and not much longer after that, Corban started waking up and kept waking up every 20 minutes or so all night (and morning) long.

AHHHH! We're home! It was a nice visit with everyone in Williamsport, but it is always nice to be home with our stuff and in our bed! We were able to get together with both sides of Johnny's family last weekend, so that was really nice. His cousin Danny was home on leave from Iraq so they had a picnic for him on Sunday and then Monday we had a picnic with Johnny's dad's side of the family - they're the ones with all of the babies right at Corban's age, so that was neat to get to see them all together again. The rest of the week would have been pretty uneventful if it wasn't for Abby and Corban both getting sick. Abby didn't go to church on Sunday b/c she wasn't feeling well and then Wednesday morning Corban woke up with a fever. He wasn't completely back to normal until Friday really. Corban had a great time with his Grammy and G-Pa. He got to play outside every day and they spoiled him rotten with attention. It was nice for Mommy not to have to chase him all over the place too! He got to chase bunnies, he says "bird" now and he'll tell you what a doggie says. He calls his G-Pa "Paw Paw," we think that's cute, so we don't know if we're just going to go with that, or teach him G-Pa. We'll see I guess. We've got the rest of this week at home, then we're back in Williamsport this weekend for Abby's first birthday! She's the last of the 9 babies that were born last year, and this is the only party we've been able to go to :(
As far as babies go for this year, Alicia is supposed to maybe be induced today. She was due on Friday and called Ann up last Monday b/c she thought she was going to have the baby - we don't know what it is yet. I have an appointment Thursday and Caden has gotten EXTREMELY active in the last week. I forgot how it made me almost sick to my stomach when Corban would really start rolling around in there. I like the feeling a lot actually, but sometimes it almost makes me seasick.
Johnny's in board meeting right now, Corban's down for a nap, and I'm going to go sit on the couch and catch up on some TV instead of putting all of our stuff away from the trip. Hope everyone had a good weekend!
